This is our master list of the 7 ministries and numerous Serving Teams that are a part of Church Experience. There may be subsets of teams under our Serving Teams which we call “crews” (ie… the “Lighting Crew” is a part of the Tech Team, which is in the Music & Arts ministry). Every CE campus uses the same names for the various ministries and teams listed below for clear communication and shared resources across all of CE.

Ministries are led by “ministry leaders” at each campus, Serving Teams are led by “team leaders”, and they often have a number of “assistant leaders”, “point leaders”, and “team members” serving on their teams as well. Each leader serves under the direction of the local Lead Pastor (or those assigned by the Lead Pastor). Mission Support holds the Lead Pastors accountable for ensuring their teams follow CE Essentials and CE Guidelines for each ministry but may periodically communicate directly with these leaders to ensure alignment.

FRONTLINE

We help people feel the love of Christ by welcoming them “from the street to the seat.”
Our Frontline Ministry consists of five Serving Teams…

  • Parking Team
  • VIP Greeting Team
  • Usher Team
  • Hospitality Team
  • Safety Team

We have a Red Carpet area for guests and we walk VIP’s (first-time guests) to the auditorium or KE check-in area and give them our VIP welcome booklet. We ask them to stop back at the Red Carpet area after the service for a free gift. We provide multiple greeter interactions before someone arrives in their seat. After the service, we give each VIP a guest gift box containing a coupon code for a free CE merch item (one box per couple/family). We ask if they had a chance to fill out a Response Card during the service and if not, we ask if they would be willing to do that right now as we hand them the gift box. This allows us to follow-up with them later and include them in the database for future communication!

Our Usher Team receives the offering by passing CE black offering buckets during the Update Video in the service. Ushers count finances and attendance using CE forms and send pictures of all forms and Response Cards to Mission Support before leaving the counting room. Ushers also give the Weekly handout with pen and offering envelop attached to each person as they enter the auditorium. They also keep their eyes open for opportunities to help people who may be looking for an open seat, set out overflow chairs when needed, and graciously handle any significant disturbances during the service.
Our Hospitality team often provides coffee and snacks (depending on the campus) to help ensure a welcoming environment where people can connect before and after each CE worship service! This team helps people experience the relational warmth of our CE family!

MUSIC & ARTS

In support of our vision to raise up the next generation, CE prioritizes recruiting young worship leaders and typically has at least 3-5 on stage each service (in addition to instrumentalists of all ages). The Worship & Tech Team must have a midweek rehearsal (typically Thursday nights) except for in unique circumstances such as Thanksgiving or Christmas landing on the rehearsal night. We use Mac computers to run ProPresenter for onscreen display in the service. We use Planning Center to create the service order each week. Lead Pastors are responsible for ensuring the worship leader completes the Planning Center service order 10 days ahead of time by Thursdays at 3:00pm (including all creative elements and interactions).

Several teams work together to help the Music & Arts ministry thrive (below). Some people regularly take pictures and/or videos of services and events to upload for use across campuses, others help plan creative elements within the service, and others fun lighting computers, sound boards, and ensure technology is working with excellence for each service!

• Worship Team
• Tech Team
• Video Team
• Photography Team
• Creative Team

LIFE GROUPS

Each campus should have healthy and strong Life Group opportunities for the purpose of helping people experience life together in Christ! Life Group changes/additions should be updated immediately on the campus page of the CE website by contacting Mission Support.
• Life Group Leaders Team
• Assistant Leaders, Hosts, and Point Leaders

KID EXPERIENCE

KE (birth to 5th grade) occurs during every adult CE service with almost no exceptions. All KE leaders must be background checked specifically by Mission Support prior to serving. All KE Guidelines must be followed for ensuring a safe, clean, fun, and impacting Kid Experience service. Mission Support provides all or part of the Kid Experience curriculum (some on video) every week which must be used as directed. Every CE campus has a designated Kid Experience check-in area located as close to the main entrance/lobby as possible.
• Service Teams (ie… 9:30am Service Team, 11:00am Service Team, etc…)
• Check-in Team
• Childcare Team (for during Growth Track classes & special events)

STUDENT EXPERIENCE

SE (6th to 12th grade) must be called “Student Experience” for synced up communication/resources across campuses and may not be renamed other names (ie… “The Refuge”, “The Edge”, etc…). Student Experience typically meets on an at least one evening during the week (typically Wednesday night).
• Student Experience Adult Leaders Team

OPERATIONS

• Admin Team
• Event Team (baptism/child dedication, special events)
• Design Team (graphics, through Mission Support only)
• Finance Team
• Growth Track Team
• Set-up Team (expected to gather with all leaders on site for opening prayer circle each week before the first service with all leaders on site, ideally at a set time 30 minutes prior to the first service and to include directions for the morning, brief devotional, and arms on each other’s’ shoulders during prayer)
• Breakdown Team (may gather for closing prayer)

OUTREACH & CAUSES (& NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS)

Each campus should have regular (at least quarterly) outreach of some type into the community. Some campuses may accomplish most of this by requesting Life Groups each have a local mission. These are typically larger events/initiatives that help local people in the community who are in need in some way by unleashing compassion or inviting them to services. We especially like to help those who are taking steps to help themselves. CE collectively labels our larger outreach events “Serve Our Cities” events (most of the time, with some exceptions), which may occasionally be coordinated during certain times of the year (although each campus envisions what the local event(s) will be). CE people are encouraged to wear CE t-shirts during these events which makes an impact for those in the community who see the church serving!

Also, CE typically requires a united “food collection” (not “food drive”) twice a year using CE designated Unleashing Compassion bags on a specific day/week (the bags, name of event, and date of the food collection are all the same across campuses). Each campus is responsible to weigh collected food, take pictures, distribute food, and communicate results to Mission Support.

All national and international missions are centralized through Mission Support for greater combined impact! Local campuses do not “partner” with missionaries or raise/send money elsewhere for missions. Our current long-term international missions strategy is to open CE campuses in other English-speaking countries with CE-owned buildings for the campus/ weekly worship services, a lodging/hotel building for constant incoming missions trips and CE leader retreats/trips, and a House of Hope (a Christian after-school activity/mentoring center for the next generation). We envision CE campuses taking regular missions trips to these various CE campuses with House of Hope locations around the world to serve the next generation in that country and outreach into the community in a sustainable way through the local CE campus. We believe this will be an exciting and sustainable way to achieve a lasting, high-impact, and enjoyable missions experience for our whole church long-term. Some CE campuses may choose to travel to different/rotating House of Hope locations around the world while other campuses may choose to long-term adopt specific House of Hope location(s) for a deeper lasting partnership.
